2-Step Verification Overview

Google Ads requires 2-step verification (2SV) for all advertiser accounts to enhance security. This requirement ensures that only authorized users can access and modify advertising campaigns.

Setup Methods

Setup Steps

  1. Go to Google Account → Security
  2. Under "Signing in to Google," click "2-Step Verification"
  3. Click "Get started"

For Manager Accounts (MCC)

If you manage multiple accounts through an MCC:

  1. Ensure 2SV is enabled on the MCC login email
  2. Verify all linked sub-accounts have 2SV-enabled users
  3. Set up backup admin access
  4. Document the verification process for team members
