What is Optimization Score?

The optimization score is an estimate from 0% to 100% of how well your Google Ads account is set to perform. A score of 100% means your account is fully optimized according to Google's recommendations.

How It Works

Google analyzes your account settings, campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, and bidding strategies. It then generates personalized recommendations to improve performance. Each recommendation has an estimated score impact.

Recommendation Types

CategoryCommon RecommendationsImpact
Bids & BudgetsRaise budget, switch to automated biddingMedium-High

How to Improve Your Score

  1. Review recommendations weekly: Check the "Recommendations" tab regularly
  2. Apply relevant recommendations: Don't blindly apply all — evaluate each one
  3. Dismiss irrelevant recommendations: Use "Dismiss" for recommendations that don't fit your strategy
  4. Fix disapproved ads: Policy violations significantly impact your score
  5. Ensure conversion tracking works: This is critical for bidding optimization
Note: A 100% optimization score doesn't guarantee best performance. Use it as a guide, not a mandate. Some recommendations may not align with your business strategy.
